UF partners with local school district to develop autism training for teachers

The UF College of Education is partnering with Alachua County Public Schools and  UF CARD to provide free, accessible training courses to strengthen educator engagement with students on the spectrum. Developed with evidence-based strategies and practical classroom tools, the initiative supports educators in meeting diverse learning needs and creating more inclusive, supportive environments where students with autism can thrive. The partnership comes as Florida’s House Bill 851 requires school districts to offer autism-specific training to teachers and administrators at least once each school year.
